Aqueous corrosion remains a significant cost and burden to government and industry, and is also a hurdle that needs to be crossed in an era of rapid technological advances. Materials are now being used in previously unconsidered applications, and in previously unconsidered environments. Furthermore, the present era also presents some unique advances in characterization, modeling, and technologies that include machine learning; all of which can be deployed in a focused or design-directed approach to the problem of aqueous corrosion. The 2022 GRC on Aqueous Corrosion includes timely presentations from leading international researchers covering the state-of-the-art. The GRC will continue its tradition of targeting discussion between academic, government and industrial researchers. In-depth presentations will be supplemented by ample informal discussion, whilst poster sessions during afternoons and evenings will complement such interactions.
