2023 General Meeting Summary
The 2023 meeting of the ICG-EAC was held from May 7 to 12 in the Kingston Market Square Hotel, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The meeting was attended by 102 technical delegates from 12 countries. The local host was led by Suraj Persaud (Queen’s University), who was supported by Kevin Daub (Queen’s University) and an excellent team.
A total number of 64 technical presentations were contributed to the 2023 meeting (39 oral presentations, 6 special session presentations, 9 tutorial lectures, 9 summary/poster presentations, and 1 presentation for the minutes only). On Monday, a plenary lecture was given by Jerry Hopwood (University NENE). Also a special session was organized on Wednesday morning, dealing with EAC of stainless steels in PWRs. As usually, the meeting was preceded by a tutorial on the Sunday giving an excellent overview on the working principles and aging issues of BWRs, CANDUs, and PWRs. On the Friday afternoon, after the meeting had ended, a number of delegates attended a tour of the Reactor Materials Testing Laboratory at Queen’s University.
Finally, the support of the Group Leadership, attendees and sponsors is gratefully acknowledged and special thanks are expressed to the local host’s team (Suraj, Kevin, Flavia, Renata, and Elizabeth) who organized this meeting extremely smoothly and efficiently!
